Hyundai announced recently that it will show a Rhys Millen Racing version of the Equus at the 2010 SEMA Auto Show next month. The RMR Signature Edition Equus will include exterior, interior and performance upgrades that will enhance the already luxurious sedan.

Exterior changes to the Equus include front chin and rear deck spoilers, carbon mirrors and a two-tone carbon fiber and "Red Bull Racing blue" paint job, plus 21-inch HRE wheels.

A new intake and exhaust system add 30 hp, for a total of 415 hp from the 4.6-liter V-8, while 14-inch front brake discs bring things to a halt. It’s not our cup of tea—we’d have attached the Korean-market hood ornament and called it a day—but it should be right at home among the bewinged and neon-lighted creations that dominate SEMA.

The car also gets two-tone carbon-fiber mirrors, front and rear spoilers and a leather interior with suede accents. It rolls on 21-inch wheels.

RHYS MILLEN RACING BUILDING SIGNATURE EDITION EQUUS FOR SEMA

Visitors to Hyundai's SEMA booth will be treated to the latest customizations from Rhys Millen Racing as his modifications to the company's new flagship sedan will be unveiled. The RMR Signature Edition Equus will include exterior, interior and performance upgrades that will enhance the already luxurious sedan.

"This is the third consecutive year we've partnered with Hyundai to bring a must-see car to the SEMA Show," said Rhys Millen, owner, Rhys Millen Racing. "The intelligent luxury platform of the new rear-wheel drive Equus is a perfect vehicle for tuners who have graduated from other segments and want to work with the best the automotive industry has to offer."

The Equus will showcase exterior RMR Signature Edition components including carbon mirrors, and front chin and rear deck spoilers. A two-tone carbon fiber and Red Bull Racing blue satin clear paint by BASF and HRE 21-inch P40 wheels will appropriately round out the exterior.

Tuners aiming to get even more power from the stock 385 horsepower, V8 engine to the wheels will get a glance at a bolt-on RMR Signature Edition air intake and stainless exhaust that together will add another 30 horsepower. The RMR Signature Equus will also feature a 14-inch brake kit designed to tame the 415 horses.

The interior of the Equus will feature RMR Signature Edition embroidered headrests and floor mats, and ostrich hide leather seats with suede accents.

The RMR Signature Edition Equus will be shown in the Hyundai Booth along with other specially designed cars exclusively built for this year's SEMA Show.

Hyundai has announced plans to introduce a supercar-inspired Sonata Turbo at the SEMA Motor Show.

The exterior modifications use "influences from the Brabus Mercedes CLS Rocket sport coupe," said Hyundai in a statement. Details include 20-inch staggered three-piece wheels, matte pearl white paint and carbon-fiber components including grille, interior trim, side mirrors and rear diffuser. "To complete the design, fabricators will incorporate LED foglights into the bumper from the Porsche 911 Turbo," said Hyundai.

The interior will be inspired by the Ferrari F430. There will be a strategically placed stitched leather throughout and carbon fiber trim accents. Those strapped into the leather driver’s seat will take pleasure in performance upgrades including turbo and intake enhancements, and a quad tip dual exhaust.

Hoping to build some hype around the new 2011 Sonata 2.0-liter Turbo before it arrives in showrooms later this year, Hyundai has teamed up with RIDES and 0-60 magazines to trick out the 274-horsepower-strong saloon for the SEMA show, which will take place in Las Vegas this November.

Supercar-Inspired Sonata Turbo to Make SEMA Debut in Hyundai Booth

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., 09/30/2010

To build excitement around the recently launched 2011 Sonata Turbo, Hyundai Motor America teamed up with RIDES and 0-60 magazines to trick out one of the first turbos off the assembly line of its Alabama plant for a debut at this year's SEMA show. Inspired by Ferrari, Mercedes and Porsche, the modified Sonata 2.0T will feature performance parts from leading aftermarket companies and custom fabrication work from RIDES' and 0-60's team of expert builders.

"The Sonata Turbo is an ideal platform for us to bridge the worlds of performance, aesthetics, luxury, technology and style," said Ben Harris, executive publisher, RIDES and 0-60 magazines. "The design we've chosen will accentuate the car's lines and style, using influences from exotic supercars."

The vehicle's exterior modifications will be modest and tasteful, using influences from the four-door Brabus Mercedes CLS Rocket sport coupe to broaden and draw attention to the vehicle's body lines from the factory. Key elements consist of 20-inch concave monobloc wheels, matte pearl white paint and a slew of carbon fiber components including the roof, grill, interior trim, side mirrors and rear diffuser. To complete the design, fabricators will incorporate custom LED fog lights into the bumper.

Inspiration for the sporty interior design came from the Ferrari F430, with strategically placed stitched leather throughout and carbon fiber trim accents. Those strapped into the leather driver's seat will take pleasure in performance upgrades including turbo and intake enhancements, and a quad tip dual exhaust.

The Sonata Turbo will be shown in the Hyundai Booth between November 2-5, 2010 (Booth #24387), among other vehicles from Hyundai Motor America. Outside of SEMA, the 2011 Sonata Turbo will be arriving in dealer showrooms later this year, with 274 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque.

Hyundai Motor Company introduced a new sub-compact family sedan concept RB at the 2010 Moscow International Motor Show. The Hyundai RB concept previews a sub-compact family sedan with a coupe-like dynamic styling. The Hyundai RB concept styling embodies the company's fluidic sculpture design language, which the company says, transforms it in a timeless work of art. Now, we're not really sure about the art part.

Power will come from Hyundai’s Gamma engine lineup consisting of a 1.6L or 1.4L DOHC in-line 4 cylinder gasoline engine that features multiport fuel injection with CVVT (Continuously Variable Valve Timing). The 1.6 Gamma is expected to push out 122-hp, while the 1.4 Gamma will produce 105-hp. Both will be mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission or a standard 4-speed manual transaxle.

The strong design hints of the production version are highlighted in concept RB’s large hexagonal front grill, headlamps and “L”-shaped fog lamps that give luxurious and exquisite looks.

The RB will be built at Hyundai's first full-cycle plant in Saint Petersburg, Russia starting in January 2011 followed by the market launch in spring of 2011.

Concept RB

(Note: All specifications and details in this release are based on the model for Russia)

Moscow, Aug. 25, 2010 - Hyundai Motor Company introduced a new sub-compact family sedan concept RB at the 2010 Moscow International Motor Show (MIMS). The RB projects a coupe-like dynamic styling that is sculpted, stately and performance-oriented.

With elegant lines that resemble a calligrapher's "orchid strokes," the concept RB continues Hyundai Motor's ‘fluidic sculpture' design philosophy that injects sophistication and dynamic angles into the shape of a vehicle. Like any timeless work of art, the fluidic essence that characterizes molding design of Hyundai's latest models is inspired by nature, realizing the harmonic coexistence of all things created.

The strong design hints of the production version are highlighted in concept RB's large hexagonal front grill, headlamps and "L"-shaped fog lamps that give luxurious and exquisite looks.

When the production sub-compact sedan arrives in Russia, it will be powered by the modern Gamma engine, 1.6L or 1.4L DOHC in-line four cylinder gasoline engine that features multiport fuel injection with CVVT (Continuously Variable Valve Timing). By replacing the old Alpha engine with Gamma, the sedan promises more power and torque, as well as best-in-class fuel economy, in keeping with Hyundai's pledge to be the industry's eco-leader. The estimated power and torque of 1.6 Gamma are respectively 124ps and 156 N.m while those of 1.4 Gamma are 107ps and 135 N.m. The powerful and fuel-efficient Gamma engine will be mated to a four-speed automatic transmission or a standard five-speed manual transaxle.

Production version of this concept car is scheduled to begin at Hyundai's first full-cycle plant in Saint Petersburg, Russia, Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Russia(HMMR) in January 2011, and will join the Hyundai lineup in the spring of 2011.

Hyundai unveiled the first official interior photo of the all-new 2011 Hyundai Elantra.  The 2011 Hyundai Elantra interior design is based on the company's new Wind Craft concept that aims to create a dynamic and futuristic image, more appealing to the younger generation.

U.S. versions should be very similar and hopefully the big LCD screen and classy piano-black trim will also be available on local models. The new car should also get puddle lamps installed in the doors and there’s even the chance that heated leather seats may be an option.

Other things we can spot include aluminum pedals, a multifuction steering wheel, a tachometer that displays a 6700 rpm redline, and a speedo that goes up to 240 km/h (149 mph).

This new interior photo offers the first-ever look at the new sedan's cabin, and follows a concept illustration revealed earlier this month.

The 2011 Elantra is likely to debut with a 138bhp 1.6-litre engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. The new Elantra will compete with the likes of Honda’s Civic, Toyota’s Corolla and the Chevrolet Cruze to name a few.

In particular, the silver garnish that starts from the crash pad and leads to the console features a windblown shape that exudes an overall refined and dynamic image. High-glossy black and metallic colors used in the cabinet add more futuristic and high-tech looks to the interior of the all-new Avante.
