Suicide doors? The last time Vauxhall/Opel gave suicide doors to their car was back in 1953 on the Opel Kaptain. Spy photographers stumbled across a Meriva mule in a public car park in Germany. Just like the previous Mervia prototypes, the rear side doors had heavy camouflage on on it. Due to the vehicle being parked, spies peeked through the rear windscreen and managed to snap some photos of the interior. The prototypes have no rear seats so it was easy to make out the new windowline and see the rear doors hinged backwards.
We don't expect to see the tail-lights located on the c-pillar anymore as this itself will be much thinner compared to the outgoing model.
If the Meriva does turn out to have suicide doors, it will be the first vehicle in its class to offer this.
We will see the next Meriva sometime in 2009.
